Registered Home Manager - Elderly / Dementia care home
Salary: £45,000 pa Job Type: Permanent
Location: Brentwood, Essex
Our client is a well established Care provider specialising in Elderly / Dementia Care.
Providing quality care services for elderly frail people with general nursing needs as well as complex needs arising from dementia-associated illnesses. They pride themselves on their modern purpose-built facilities with the highest standards of care.
They are currently seeking an experienced Registered Manager to successfully run their 34 bedded Care Home based in the Brentwood area. It is easily accessible by road and public transport. Local shops and amenities are just a 5-10 minute walk away.
You must be an experienced Registered Manager who has worked in a similar-sized nursing home with dementia and challenging behaviour.
The contracted hours for this role are 40 per week.
•Evidence of on-going continuing professional development linked to demonstrable clinical competencies.
•Dementia care and challenging behaviour training.
•Full driving licence
•Strong leadership, organisational and motivational skills.
•Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to articulate oneself.
•Ability to supervise and delegate work effectively.
•Effective organisation skills as demonstrated by achievement of deadlines, priority setting, maintenance of accurate records/care plans etc.
•Ability to complete and train others in complex person-centred care planning documentation.
•Ability to plan rotas/shift patterns in line with the needs of the Home.
•Effective working whilst under pressure, maintaining control and confidence.
•Excellent problem solving skills and ability to initiate change.
•Able to work across professional team and organisational boundaries.
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working at Registered Manager level.
•Understanding of current research and philosophies and principles of supporting people within the service user group.
•An insight into medical, social conditions and interventions relevant to the service user group.
•Knowledge of quality monitoring and assurance measures.
•Understanding of health and safety, clinical risk and quality issues relevant to the Health and Social Care arena and the associated reporting systems.
•Awareness of equality and diversity.
•A genuine interest and desire to work with people with dementia and their families.
•Ability to empathise with people from all backgrounds.
•Ability to provide sound practical judgements for the care of service users.
•Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to change.
•Effective time management.
•Motivated, enthusiastic and committed.
•Take responsibility for own actions and promote good team working.
•Share information and good practice appropriately.
•Treat others with courtesy and respect at all times.
