Are you a qualified Social Worker seeking a new challenge? We are recruiting for Southend on sea based care organisation working within a scheme that encourages service users to maintain a level of independence in their life in the community.
Our client are a social care provider based in Southend on Sea, Essex. They are currently recruiting for two Shared Lives Social Workers. They are a flexible, creative, community based service which provides long term accommodation, short breaks and day support to adults who have been assessed as needing this unique and flexible type of support. The scheme recruits, trains and supports carers to provide quality placements for vulnerable adults within their own family homes in the community. The scheme provides an alternative for people to the more traditional residential support.
Their Shared Lives Scheme is growing and currently have vacancies for two full time Shared Lives Social Workers. The scheme aims to encourage service users to maintain a level of independence and to develop skills and the potential for independence to maximise the quality of their life in the community. The scheme also aims to enhance independence, choice and inclusion through a person-centred approach.
The Role
The role would involve assessing, training and matching service users with shared lives carers to provide an effective and flexible range of placements capable of meeting the changing needs and complexity of people referred to the service. You will be supporting and monitoring shared lives arrangements and support the potential growth and development of the service. You will work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to address needs and achieve best outcomes for individuals and their carers
What you need
Experience of working with vulnerable adults; creating innovative packages of care and support to maximise independence; managing a complex workload and current social work England registration are required.
You will need to have a UK valid driving licence, and access to your own vehicle.
