Experienced Deputy Manager. Working for a small organisation with 5 residential services in Westcliff who provide care for adults with learning disabilities.

Our client are a small organisation registered with CQC to provide residential care for people with learning disability across 5 locations in the Southend on Sea area (32 beds in total). They are recruiting for a  Deputy Manager to oversee and maintain the care of service users within the homes and in the absence of the Manager, take responsibility for the day to day running of the homes.

You will need to have NVQ Level 5 or equivalent and have previous supervisory experience. Car owner essential

As the Deputy Manager, your duties will include:


  • Ensuring all Staff Members contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient
  • running of the homes, and to the creation of an atmosphere conductive to the
  • best interests of Service users.
  • Interacting with Service users to ensure that their health care needs are being
  • met and resolving any problems where appropriate.
  • Reporting any ill-health amongst Service users and make requests for GP /
  • Professional visits where necessary.
  • Ensuring meals are of sufficient quantity and good quality, and that Service
  • user’s dietary needs are met.
  • Undertaking general support and personal care as appropriate.
  • Administering prescribed medicines and maintaining the necessary records as
  • per Company guidelines.
  • Auditing Care Plan documentation, to ensure best practice
  • Advising the manager, regarding any incident / accident, and the status of any Service users whose care / health is causing concern.
  • Supervising visits and liaising with GPs in order to establish a good relationship between GPs / Health Care Professionals and The homes

Also you will be involved in managing, monitoring and maintaining budgets agreed by the manager. Dealing with HR procedures including recruitment, controlling sickness absence and dealing with staff appraisals in line with company policy

Salary £27k plus overtime
