Job Description

Team Leader required by residential service in Westcliff on Sea, Essex (autism/challenging behaviour)

We are recruiting for a Team Leader/Shift Leader to work for a residential service based in Westcliff on Sea, Essex.  Experience of supporting people with autism and challenging behaviour is essential for this role.  As a Team Leader you will  maintain care skills at a current level, and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain that currency of practice. To provide leadership to care functions of the Home.

This is a full time, permanent role working 35 hour week (earlies/lates and will involve some weekend working.

To provide care in accordance with current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager, and within the financial plans agreed from time-to-time.

  • To supervise the care services within the Home in accordance with agreed standards.
  • Develop effective working relationships with the Manager of the Home.
  • Support an open, positive and inclusive management culture.
  • Participate in the development of the Home’s policies.
  • Participate in evaluation of the Home against agreed organisational goals, as well as business, and quality objectives. Promoting the organisation’s Mission Statement
  • Work to establish effective employer-employee relationships.
  • Assist in the implementation of care policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the standards required by legislation related to the registration of the Home.
  • Act within the Home’s budget based on the Home’s objectives and within the projected revenue.
  • Be involved in the implementation and maintenance of the Home’s quality assurance programme.
  • Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues which arise.
  • Assist in the development of the philosophy, goals and objectives for the care practice.
  • Assist in the assessment of the effectiveness of care implementation and delivery
  • Implement action to meet and maintain care standards.
  • Work in cooperation with members of multi-disciplinary health teams and other associated professionals in order to maximise opportunities for Service User therapeutic care.
  • To maintain positive relationships with family members. Maintaining professional boundaries with families
  • To support and maintain Data Protection under the data protection act and from 25th May 2018 following the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 

Qualifications required: QCF Level 3

Salary £20,784 per annum plus overtime when available.

I feel I would like to give a positive review on working for ENS in any care capacity. I joined at the start of December 2015 and have been offered enough work to fit around my own needs and other commitments. The work has been varied and I received good information prior to the visit. The excellent dedicated back office support staff and they clearly understand their clients’ needs which are aligned to the qualities of the Support Workers, this helps builds the relationship.
