Job Description

ENS Recruitment are seeking to recruit an experienced Rota Consultant to work in their busy Care & Support Division.

 ENS Recruitment have been established 30 years and deal with recruitment in the health and social care sector.  We are currently recruiting for a Rota Consultant for a six month contract, with the potential to extend or become a permanent role.  The Rota Consultant will be  based in our specialist Care & Support Division. The Rota Consultant will be based at our modern offices in Westcliff on Sea, Essex.  As a Rota Consultant you will be expected to produce rotas for all temporary agency workers and permanent ENS staff, this is to include allocation of shifts in line with service needs and processes ensuring that all contractual requirements are fulfilled, and safe staffing levels are maintained across all services.

 As a Rota Consultant you will be working in a very busy, fast paced environment and dealing with a high volume of calls and queries; therefore, you must be highly organised, have good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. You will be expected to demonstrate stability in your performance whilst working under pressure.


  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel & other Office Applications.
  • To have a comprehensive understanding of complex care/support packages including individuals with profound learning disabilities, autism, mental health & elderly frail.
  • To have a good working knowledge of the CQC requirements for supported living schemes and the Health and Social Care Acts and other relevant legislation and ensure compliance.


  • Manage the allocation of temporary workers and permanent ENS staff; this will involve inputting rotas in advance, scheduling events such as training, managing rota deviations and arranging shift cover in the event of shortfalls.
  • Prepare rotas in accordance with policy and ensuring all service needs are met.
  • Notify clients of any enforced changes.
  • To email/post out rotas to staff in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that care/support staff meet legislative standards, service users’ needs
  • & Company Policies and procedures before booking into shifts.
  • You will be exposed to a wide variety of administrative tasks including answering the telephone, staff queries and inputting annual leave, absences, sickness & availability on Cold Harbour.
  • To deal with any complaints in relation to staff placed in a prompt and professional manner and to ensure that management is informed.
  • Providing directions and general information to staff.


Working hours 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Salary £19,000 - £22,000 per annum (pro rata)
