The team at ENS Care and Support are celebrating after receiving a glowing report after an inspection from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for their care services.

ENS Care and Support was rated ‘Good’ overall following the inspection.  The report highlighted that the service provides high standards of care in supporting people with learning difficulties and that the service is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

The inspectors spoke to relatives, carers and professionals of people who receive personal care.  They were full of praise saying that the service was ‘people led inclusive and empowered lives because of the ethos, values, attitudes and behaviours of management and staff’.  And ‘The people received kind and compassionate care and that staff respected people’s privacy and dignity and promoted their independence’. Plus ‘Staff placed people’s wishes, needs and rights at the heart of everything they did’.

The report also praised the staff, with many quotes from relatives saying that they had absolutely no concerns and that their loved ones were well supported.  Comments included, “They handle all [person’s] medication and it’s all written down. Even the changes after a visit to the GP are all logged on the system. There has never been a problem.” And “There are regular care plan reviews for [names] and I always get an input. ENS have given [names] a quality of life…They have flourished here. It has been a godsend.”

It was also wonderful to be reminded that our staff feel valued and supported and enjoyed working with ENS, with staff saying “I shadowed other staff and had time to read [person’s] care plan. I feel very confident with ENS and the people I work with. If any problems ENS are there.” Another said, “It’s a good place to work. Management are 100% approachable and have an open-door policy.”

Sally Jones, Care and Support Registered Manager said, “I am extremely proud of the entire team who do everything they can to support our clients to live their best lives. Our clients are the heart of our work, and it is rewarding that this has been recognised and acknowledged by the Care Quality Commission”.

The full CQC report is available to read on our Care and Support website.

What people are saying about ENS

I feel I would like to give a positive review on working for ENS in any care capacity. I joined at the start of December 2015 and have been offered enough work to fit around my own needs and other commitments. The work has been varied and I received good information prior to the visit. The excellent dedicated back office support staff and they clearly understand their clients’ needs which are aligned to the qualities of the Support Workers, this helps builds the relationship.

While there is a need for help at short notice to meet the company needs I have been further impressed to have good notice of most of the work intended. My role has been largely Community Support but I have worked with our Residential team and clearly there is plentiful work again with helpful support.

In my dealings with the company I have found the ENS team to be helpful and approachable and need to reiterate how impressed I have been. Thank you to all involved.
